When you come home at the end of a long day you might unwind with a lavender bubble bath or maybe light a eucalyptus candle as part of your study ritual.

For a lot of people, smelling essential oils can make them feel more positive, relaxed, or even feel less pain.

Essential oils aren't actually essential. At least, not for your body. They are, however, found in the body of plants. These oils are complex mixtures of dozens of different compounds that are super small and light so they can easily float up into your nose.

Those compounds reaching your nose can actually change how you fell. That is because essential oils are said to boost the feel-good neurotransmitters in your brain like dopamine and serotonin.
